week 10

Week #10 – Mashups.I made a jigsaw of my youngest son, looking very happy to be the model. I use google maps a lot and think it's a great tool.

week 9

Week #9 – Podcasts and audio
I didn't have time to listen to either of these podcasts as I am doing this at home in my spare time, though I have listened to many different sorts of podcasts before. These would be good for older people who don't know how to use the internet, if they were directed to these podcasts. Similary almost anybody who prefers to listen and learn instead of reading and learning would find this helpful.

week 9

This has nothing to do with week 9, but I thought I'd show you my grandson on holidays with us.
Week #9Podcasts and audio

week 8

Week #8 – Answer boards and social searching.

I found this similar to when you ask a librarian in the state library website, which I have done a few times, only on a broader scale. I think this is a very handy tool to have, especially for reference work. I have posted a question and joined up and am now waiting for my answer. 1 hour later and I have my answer from moonbaby. Thanks moonbaby

week seven

Week #7 – Tagging, folksonomies, delicious and LibraryThing

I just lost everything I had written, a lesson in saving things for me. First up delicious. I had a very hard time setting up a delicious account, but with dogged perseverence I did manage to set one up. I saved the Cleveland Public Library post and searched and saved two Bon Jovi sites. This one was no hardship as I am a big fan. I think this would be very handy for HSC students to share notes or perhaps book club members to share their thoughts on any books they may be reading at the time.

Technorati. I set up an account with Technorati, I have so many different passwords I have had to write them all down. I think this would be good for anyone wanting to keep up with news and current events or just for recreation purposes. I typed in bookmobile and got 284 hits. Using advance serach I also 284 hits, so no different. I liked the nswpln2008 site, especially the one where the dogs visit the library. This was very interesting.

Librarything. This one I enjoyed immensley. It was easy to set up and great fun having alook around all the books. I added 5 books, but I don't know how to link it.

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Week Six

Week six was video online. I started off browsing you- tube, which I do at home a lot, so that wasn't anything new for me. I love you- tube, my two nephews and a mate are on it singing under the heading of Barraba and triplets. Dreadful voices. My google video however, wouldn't work, it kept sending me to you-tube.

Explore: I went into library building projects and watched the State Library of Queensland being built in time lapse photography, pity it couldn't all be that fast.I also went into you tube, after reading Narelles blog, and watched "the angry librarian", I thought he kept his cool pretty well.
